Technopolis is the permanent exhibition at Motherwell Heritage Centre and takes the visitor on a journey through time, telling the history of the area and the people who lived there using a series of multi-media environments.

The galleries depict important events in Motherwell's history, from the earliest days to the arrival of heavy industry in the 19th century and its subsequent decline in the 20th century. Exhibits are complemented by a variety of audio-visual events, such as video and sound clips and interactive touch-screen computers.

The Technopolis tour brings the history of Motherwell vividly to life and allows visitors to explore at their leisure many of the events and colourful characters that have helped to shape the Motherwell of today.
