An exhibition looking at our changing relationships with food over the past 150 years. Displays include what we cooked just to stay alive and its labour-intensive preparation; the development of chore-busting equipment for ordinary households; and the onset of branding, marketing and pre-packaging of foodstuffs as the era of supermarkets and television took its hold on the high street. Lastly, the exhibition looks at recent trends towards healthy eating. There will be a full teachers pack available and visits by school groups are welcomed, but must be pre-booked. |
