The curatorial service is responsible for the collections under the care of North Lanarkshire Council's museum service. The collection consists mostly of 19th / 20th century social and industrial history artefacts, and there are also paintings, coins, medals, firearms and archaeology, totalling over 40,000 objects.

The collection is constantly growing and donations of relevant artefacts are always welcome. An idenfication service is operated by curatorial staff for members of the public who wish to have objects identified (no valuations can be given).
